We all know we want it. We want it so bad that we spend money on creams, gels, treatments, and supplements of all kinds. We spend time worrying about it, hoping for better, and worst of all, critiquing ourselves.
We ALL want to be beautiful – glowing skin, luscious hair, bright, white eyes.
The best news ever is that you really can improve your skin, hair, nails and whites of your eyes just by improving your nutrient intake.
These parts of our body all rejuvenate. They are constantly turning over and creating new cells. If that’s the case, then why are we turning to skin creams and supplements that are expensive and promising, but don’t have near the effect that real nutrients can have on our appearance.
Today– Three “Beauty Rules” for you to take away and improve your outer beauty!
Okay, so let me ease your mind for a moment. This doesn’t mean you have to eat a ton of raw foods or be on a raw food diet! Let me explain WHY this is Beauty Rule #1: Raw foods (and when I saw raw foods – I’m referring to raw fruits and veggies) contain enzymes. When we heat food to above 118 degrees, enzyme are destroyed. Enzymes, my dears, are the fountain of youth. They are the catalysts of all body functions and we therefore need them for our bodies to function successfully. If we don’t consume these enzymes in food form, we have to tap into our body’s reserves of enzymes. But, as we age, our enzyme reserve reduces thus leading to aging and slowed metabolism. How do we resist this? Take in raw fruits and veggies at each meal and you’ll be supplying your body with the enzymes it needs to preserve your youth!
So while Rule #2 goes hand-in-hand with #1, the reason behind it is different. Greens are SUPER nutrient dense and low in calorie. When I say “greens,” think dark greens – spinach, kale, and even romaine lettuce. Iceberg does NOT qualify (sorry). BONUS is that we can make an AWESOME salad using a dark green lettuce and lots of other raw veggies… and BAM, #s 1 and 2 are done!
Omega 3, Omega 6… WHY is there so much information out there and WHY can’t we just focus on a number of fat grams everyday and be done with it?! You know I have an answer here, right?! ☺ All the different types of fats behave very differently in our bodies. Unhealthy fats lead to inflammation in the body. Inflammation leads to speeding up the aging process (and remember that’s what we’re trying to slow…!). Healthy fats need to be the majority of what we consume. And the most ideal ratio is a 3:1 ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6. I’m going to keep this simple and tell you the HEALTHY 5 that do not lead to inflammation – Chia, Flax, Hemp, Avocado, and Walnuts. Get these everyday and be mindful of your remaining fat intake… and you’ll be looking younger in no time!
Did this help you? Are you ready to take these 3 small actions to preserve your youth?!
