You can make 2015 your year…
Let the routines begin!! 2014 was awesome – full of great memories, awesome times, wonderful successes, and of course the dreaded mishaps and lousy memories as well. Every year has its ups and downs. My goal is to make 2015 full of many, many more ups than downs, and here I am to share with you how I’ll start doing just that –
What’s one of the BEST ways to guarantee your success? Having a routine, a schedule, whatever you want to call it – having consistency in your life. Everyone’s interpretation of the word “success” will be different, and this is a beautiful thing. This could mean money, advancing the ladder in your career, raising a wonderful child, losing weight, being an admired person and friend, etc. Success is different for each of us, but we all want to be successful.
So back to ROUTINE. Whatever your routine looks like is up to you. The important part is that you have one. For me, it will mean working from my to-do list, waking up early and getting lots of work done first thing in the morning, spending a little time food-prepping so I have healthy meals and snacks each week, connecting with people and building relationships, making time to talk to friends and family back home on the phone, and knowing what time I will get my exercise on each day.
The holidays kill my routine, and sometimes it takes a little extra work to get back “into it.” I LOVE the holidays and wouldn’t trade them for anything, but it does mess up my routine, and I am ready to get back to it. What’s wonderful about where the holidays fall is that we are now in this new, fresh year of 2015 and we all feel that motivation to make some positive changes! Embrace that motivation and set a plan to create habits (through routines…) and become more successful this year than last. You have the power within. You hold the key to every ounce of success you will create for yourself. There will be setbacks; there will be occurrences that are out of your control. But if you have a ROUTINE in place… how much easier will that make it for you to pick up and continue on that path to success you’ve set for yourself?
Set aside a little time to think about what you want to see your year look like this year. How can you make that happen? What routines can you put in place to help you get there? This little bit of time and planning is worth it because YOU are worth it.
