There’s a common misconception about what my life entails… and that is that I workout for a living.
While this would be quite awesome, aside from the 5 group fitness classes I instruct each week it’s actually not the case. Yes I post exercises and workouts online. Yes I post blogs about fitness and nutrition. Yes I am always switching up my workout routine (PIYO, Turbokick, Insanity MAX30, 21 Day Fix Extreme, Les Mills PUMP to name a few of my recent picks). Yes I share and invite to my monthly challenge groups.
I do all of the above for one main reason – to motivate those around me to keep their health in check and a priority! And because of social media and technology, “those around me” include people EVERYWHERE. That is a dream come true for a fitness professional and enthusiast like me!
So other than everything you see on social media, what am I really doing all day if I am not just working out??
Those videos and pics are just snippets of time that I create to help and motivate you. The rest of the day I am sitting at my desk, on my little bouncy ball, working ferociously at a multitude of tasks, just like anyone else with a “real job.”
Many of you have seen my Facebook Page, Smile Your Way Fit. If you haven’t, go check it out and LIKE it for me now, please 🙂 (and thank you)! This is a page I created back in 2012 to spread my motivation, fit tips, general nutrition advice and genuine passion for all things health and fitness. That is the year I began my journey as an entrepreneur and Beachbody Coach. Since then, I have ebbed and flowed in that business – sometimes with high focus, and other times with my focus being elsewhere. Presently, THIS is where my focus lies. And I have no plan of changing that.
So again, what is it that I do all day? That list is lengthy, but here’s an idea: build relationships with people – something I LOVE to do (by phone, email, Facebook messaging, etc), create and post motivational or enlightening social media posts (Facebook and Instagram mostly), write for my blog, update my website, monthly program and event planning (i.e. free challenges, coach training, sneak-peaks into coaching), listen to or read various personal development and coach training materials, check-in with and meet the needs of my coaches, check-in with and meet the needs of my challengers, answer a multitude of questions I receive each day, and working on other various programs I am in the process of designing.
My point of this post is to dispel the view that I workout all day long and, more importantly, to share with you that the majority of what I do all day… really is to BENEFIT YOU. So if you have questions for me, comments you’d like me to hear, or anything else… I’m here to listen, to talk, and to give guidance.
I am in the business of health and fitness for two reasons:
I love it and am passionate about it myself, and
I love sharing what I am passionate about in order to help others improve their lives.
